ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Reverse psychology

Reverse psychology is when you try to get someone to do something by telling them to do the opposite. For example, if someone asked you "Do you want to go to the movies?", you might say "I don't want to go to the movies" even if you do—that's reverse psychology. It's like you're trying to trick the person into doing what you want them to do by saying the opposite!
