ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Riding-like sitting

Okay kiddo, let's talk about riding and sitting. When we talk about riding, we usually think about getting on things like a bike or a horse, right? And when we sit, we usually think about sitting down on a chair or a couch.

But did you know that sometimes when we ride, we actually sit down too? Imagine you're on a horse – you don't stand up on it, do you? Instead, you sit down on a saddle, which is a special seat made for riding.

The same goes for bikes – we don't stand on them like we would on a skateboard, we sit on the seat. And even when we're in a car or a bus, we sit down to ride.

So riding-like sitting means that instead of standing up while we ride, we sit down on something that's made for it, like a saddle or a seat. It's more comfortable and it gives us more control over the thing we're riding.

Does that make sense, little one?
