ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Right to truth

Have you ever played hide and seek with your friends or family? It's a fun game where one person hides and everyone else tries to find them. But imagine if the person who was hiding never came out and never told anyone where they were. That wouldn't be very fair or fun, would it?

Well, sometimes people in power or authority hide things from us. They might not tell us the whole truth about something or they might even lie to us. This can make it really hard for us to understand what's going on and to make good decisions.

That's where the right to truth comes in. The right to truth means that people have the right to know the whole truth about things that affect their lives. This includes things like human rights violations, corruption, and even things like environmental disasters.

When people have the right to truth, it means that they can hold those in power accountable for their actions. It also means that we can work together to make things better and to make sure that everyone is treated fairly.

So, in a way, the right to truth is like playing fair in a game. We all have to be honest and tell each other the truth so that everyone can have a good time and be treated fairly.
