Okay kiddo, imagine the Earth is a big ball, just like a basketball. Now on this ball, there is a special place where the edges of two big pieces of the ball are touching each other. This place is called the "Ring of Fire."
When these two pieces of the ball touch each other, they don't fit perfectly. It's like two puzzle pieces not matching up perfectly. Because they don't fit perfectly, they move around a lot and sometimes they rub against each other. This causes a lot of heat and pressure to build up inside the Earth.
When the heat and pressure get really strong, they can make the land and earth shake a lot. This is called an earthquake. Sometimes, all the shaking can even create a really big wave called a tsunami, which can be very dangerous for people who live near the ocean.
But the Ring of Fire isn't all bad news, little buddy. It's also responsible for all the big beautiful mountains we have in the world, like the Rocky Mountains in America and the Andes in South America. When the two pieces of the Earth push against each other, it makes the land shoot up and create big mountains.
So that's what the Ring of Fire is: a special place on Earth where two pieces of the Earth's surface touch each other and cause earthquakes and mountains.
