ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Robert McKee

Robert McKee is a man who likes to tell stories. He teaches lots of people, both big and small, about how to tell really good stories. He is very smart and knows a lot about how stories are put together.

He tells adults that stories should have characters that we care about, and should take us on a journey with lots of exciting twists and turns. He also teaches them about something called "structure," which is like a road map that helps them know where their story is going.

For kids, Robert McKee would say that good stories have really cool characters that we like and feel like we know. The story should have lots of different parts that make us feel happy, scared, or excited. And just like when we build with blocks, the story should have a beginning, a middle, and an end, so we know where it's going.

So, Robert McKee helps grown-ups and kids learn how to tell stories that are interesting and fun.
