Robocalls

Okay kiddo, have you ever heard your mom or dad's phone ring and there's nobody there when they answer? That's called a robocall. It's when a computer program dials a phone number and plays a recorded message or tries to sell something.

Sometimes these calls can be really annoying or even scammy, and that's why your grown-ups might not like them. They might try to block these calls using fancy apps or features on their phones.

But why do people make these robocalls? Well, some companies use them to try and sell their products or services to lots of people at once. Other times, scammers use robocalls to try and trick people into giving them money or personal information.

It's important to be careful when answering calls from unfamiliar numbers or giving out any personal information over the phone. And if you ever get a robocall that seems weird or scary, make sure to tell a grown-up right away.
