Robust regression

Robust regression is a type of statistical modeling that is used when data sets contain outliers (very unusual values) or when the data is not normally distributed. It is more resistant to being affected by individual data points that aren't typical values. It uses a different measure of how far off an individual data point is from the average data point, and it downplays the effect of outliers (unusual values). Robust regression is generally used when the data points spread out in a non-uniform way, or when the normal distribution does not make sense for the data.
