Simple linear regression

Simple linear regression is a way to measure a relationship between two things. One of the things is called the 'dependent variable'. This is the thing that can be predicted by looking at the other thing, which is called the 'independent variable'. To get this prediction, you draw a line on a graph that looks like it best fits the data you have. The position of the line tells you how much the dependent variable will change when the independent variable changes. This can help you predict how one thing affects another.
