Rochdale College was a big building in Toronto where people could live and learn together. It was sort of like a big school for grown-ups.
The idea was that students could make their own rules, learn and experiment with different ideas, and live in a community where everyone supported each other.
However, some people took advantage of the new freedoms and started doing things that were not good for themselves or others. Some students started using drugs, and some people started stealing things from the other students.
Unfortunately, because the college did not have enough rules or control, it eventually became too difficult to manage and was shut down.
