Roller derby

Roller derby is a sport where two teams of people skate around in circles on a track. Each team has a group of skaters called "jammers" who wear a star on their helmet. The jammers try to skate past the other team's players and for every opponent they pass, they get a point.

The other players on the team, called "blockers," try to stop the other team's jammer from passing them while also helping their own jammer get through. Blockers use their bodies to push each other out of the way and prevent the other team from scoring points.

There are also special players on each team called "pivots" who wear a stripe on their helmet. Pivots can become the jammer if their team needs them to, but they can also help their team's blockers by directing them and calling out plays.

Roller derby is a very physical and fast-paced sport. Skaters wear lots of protective gear including helmets, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards because they can fall down a lot. The game lasts for an hour, broken down into smaller segments called "jams." The team with the most points at the end of the game is the winner.
