ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Rollins Tars

Rollins Tars are a type of material that is used to make roads and pavements. They are made from a thick, black, sticky substance called asphalt that is mixed with tiny rocks and sand. This mixture is then heated up and spread out onto a flat surface to create a hard, durable surface that can withstand lots of traffic and weather.

Imagine playing with some thick, sticky play-doh, and then mixing in some little rocks and sand to make it tough and strong. Then you take that mixture and spread it out on a table to make a cool play area for your toy cars and trucks. That's kind of like how Rollins Tars are made, but they're used to make real roads that cars, trucks, and buses drive on.

Rollins Tars are important because they make our roads easier and safer to travel on. They provide a smooth surface for vehicles to drive on and they help to prevent potholes and other damage to the road. Without Rollins Tars, our roads would be bumpy and dangerous to drive on, especially in bad weather.

So, the next time you go for a ride in the car, remember to thank the Rollins Tars for making your trip smoother and more enjoyable!
