Rood screen

A rood screen is a big and fancy wooden wall that divides a church into two parts. It usually has three doors in the middle of it, called the chancel. Behind the rood screen is a special part called the chancel, where the adults go to sit during religious ceremonies, like Mass. In front of the rood screen, on the other side of the church, is a place for kids to sit and watch what is happening in the chancel. The rood screen helps to keep the adults and kids separate so that the adults can concentrate on the ceremony.
