Do you know what a rock is? It's a hard thing that comes from the ground, like a big, heavy pebble! Well, a long time ago, on a little island called Guam, there were some special rocks called "latte stones". They were big and round on the bottom, and flat on top, like a giant mushroom!
The people who lived on Guam a long time ago thought these latte stones were super important, and they used them to make really special buildings called "haligi". But where did they get these special rocks from? That's where the "rota latte stone quarry" comes in.
A "quarry" is a place where people go to get more rocks. And the rota latte stone quarry is a special place where people used to go to get the latte stones to build their buildings. It's on a different island, called Rota.
The people who worked at the quarry would use big rocks and sharp tools to break away the parts of the big rocks they didn't need. They would keep going until they had the perfect latte stone! Then they would load it up onto a special boat and take it back over to Guam.
People don't use the quarry to get latte stones anymore, but they still go there to see the amazing things the people a long time ago were able to make from those special rocks!
