ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Router (woodworking)

Okay kiddo, so there's a tool called a router that grown-ups use to make cool designs and shapes on pieces of wood. It's like a power tool that spins really fast and has a sharp, pointy piece sticking out of the bottom.

When the grown-up turns it on and presses it against a piece of wood, the sharp part cuts into the wood and removes little bits of it, kind of like a drilling machine. They can move it around to make all sorts of different shapes and patterns, like squares, circles, and wavy lines.

Grown-ups often use routers to create nice looking edges on things, like the side of a wooden table or a window frame. They can also use it to make special designs, like letters or pictures, for things like signs or plaques.

But remember to always be careful because routers can be very dangerous if not used properly. So, let's leave the router to the grown-ups!
