ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Royal Australian Naval Reserve

Have you heard of the big boats that sail in the water and protect our country? That's the Royal Australian Navy! And did you know that some people can join the Navy part-time, just like a hobby? That's called the Royal Australian Naval Reserve!

The Reserve is made up of regular people who have other jobs or go to school but still want to help out in the Navy when they can. They are trained by the Navy on how to be a good sailor and protect our country. Sometimes, they might go on a big boat for a few days or a few months to help out and learn more about being in the Navy.

Being in the Reserve is like being in a special club where you get to do cool things like shooting guns, driving boats, and learning about navigation. It's also a way to give back to our country and help keep us safe.

So, if you love the idea of sailing and protecting our country, maybe one day you can join the Royal Australian Naval Reserve too!
