ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Ruin

Okay kiddo, so let's say you have a piggy bank that you save money in. You work hard to put your money in there every week. But one day, you accidentally break the piggy bank and all your money falls out and gets mixed up with dirt and rocks. You feel upset and discouraged because you worked hard for that money and now it's ruined.

In grown-up terms, "ruin" means something is destroyed or damaged so badly that it can't be used or fixed anymore. It can happen to all sorts of things like buildings, cars, or even your favorite toy. Sometimes, things can be ruined by natural disasters like earthquakes or floods, and other times it can be because someone made a mistake or was careless.

But don't worry, even though it feels bad when something gets ruined, it's also an opportunity to start fresh and find new things to enjoy. You can always work hard and save up for new things to replace what was ruined.
