The Russo-Ukrainian War started in 2014 and is an ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia. It began when Russia tried to take control of the Crimean Peninsula, part of Ukraine, and support a separatist war in Eastern Ukraine. Ukraine doesn't want this to happen, so the two countries have been fighting. People have died and homes have been destroyed because of the war. Russia is trying to keep Ukraine from becoming more independent and also wants to take control of parts of Ukraine for its own reasons.
