ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Rydberg formula

Alright kiddo, so you know how sometimes we can see colors in the sky when the sun sets or rises? Those colors are actually made up of light.

Now, scientists have studied light and figured out that it is made up of teeny tiny particles called photons. And those photons can have different amounts of energy.

When photons have a lot of energy, they have a higher frequency. And when they have less energy, they have a lower frequency.

This is where the Rydberg formula comes in. It helps scientists figure out how much energy a photon has based on its frequency.

The formula uses something called the Rydberg constant, which is a special number that helps us do the math. Scientists can use the Rydberg formula to figure out how much energy a photon has, even if they don't know anything else about it.

It might seem complicated, but it's really important because it helps us understand more about light and how it works. So we can use it to create new technologies or even solve problems in science. Cool, huh?
