SS Badger

So, you know how you go on boats sometimes, right? Well, the SS Badger is a really big boat that can take cars and trucks on it too! It's like a really big ferry that goes across a very big lake called Lake Michigan. The Badger has a big engine that makes it go, and it has four big propellers in the water that help it move too.

People like to go on the Badger because it's more fun to ride on a boat than to drive for hours and hours around the lake. On the Badger, you can sit inside and look out the window, or you can go up to the deck and feel the wind in your hair. They have yummy food and drinks on board, and they also have some fun things to do, like a game room and a movie theater.

But there's something really special about the SS Badger. Where most boats use regular gas or diesel fuel, the Badger uses a special kind of fuel called coal! Coal is kind of like big, dirty rocks that you can burn to make heat. The Badger has a big room inside where they put the coal, and then they light it on fire to make steam. The steam powers the engine and propellers, just like how the gas in a car makes it go. Using coal instead of regular fuel is not very common anymore, but it's what makes the Badger really unique and cool.
