ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

STARS-II

Okay kiddo, have you ever looked up at the night sky and saw those shiny little dots? Those are stars! And just like how we have different types of plants, there are different types of stars too.

The STARS-II project is a group of people who are studying these stars to learn more about them. They use big telescopes to look at stars that are very far away and can't be seen with our bare eyes.

One thing they're interested in is how different gases make up the stars. You know how we breathe in oxygen to live? Well, stars have their own special gases that keep them alive too. Scientists study how these gases move around inside the star and what happens when they come together.

Another thing they look at is how bright the stars are. Have you ever noticed some stars are brighter than others? The scientists want to know why that is and what makes some stars shine more brightly than others.

All this studying helps us learn more about how the universe works and how stars are born, live, and eventually die. Pretty cool, huh?
