Samsara is a Sanskrit word that means “the cycle of life” or “the circle of life”. It is the idea in some religions (like Hinduism and Buddhism) that people go through many different lives on Earth and then are reborn back into another life. In Hinduism, it is believed that this cycle repeats until a person reaches enlightenment. In Buddhism, it is believed that people can be released from this cycle through achieving nirvana. In either case, the idea is that people live many different lives, learning lessons and growing, until they reach enlightenment.
