Salish Sea

Okay kiddo, have you ever heard of the Salish Sea? It's a really big body of water that's located along the west coast of Canada and the United States. Imagine a big lake that's connected to a bunch of rivers and streams that flow out to the ocean.

The Salish Sea is special because it's home to more than 200 different kinds of fish, like salmon and herring, as well as lots of other sea creatures, like orcas and seals. These fish and animals rely on the Salish Sea to survive, just like we rely on the air we breathe and the water we drink.

Sometimes, humans do things that can negatively affect the health of the Salish Sea, like polluting the water with garbage and chemicals from factories or boats. This can make it harder for the fish and animals to live there and can even make them sick.

So it's really important that we take care of the Salish Sea and try our best to keep it clean and healthy, so that we can continue enjoying all the wonderful things it has to offer.
