The Salish Sea is a big body of water that's located in the Pacific Northwest of North America. Sometimes people find human feet washing up on the shores of the Salish Sea. It's weird because finding just one foot can be kind of normal, but since 2007, they've found more than 20 feet!
People are very curious about why there are so many feet showing up, and scientists and researchers are studying them to figure it out. Even though it's strange and unusual, the reason that feet come off people is that humans are mostly made of water and salt, so when they die and get into the water, their skin can get really loose.
It's normal for things to float in the water, especially when it's saltwater. So when people die and are in the water for a long time, their feet can come off and float away. They can then end up traveling in the water and wind up on the shores of the Salish Sea, where people sometimes find them.
