ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Salisipan

Salisipan is a traditional game that is played in the Philippines. It is very similar to the game of hide and seek, where one person is chosen to be "it" and has to try and find the other players who are hiding.

Instead of just hiding behind trees, though, in salisipan, the players use pieces of cloth or other objects to cover themselves up and blend in with their surroundings. This makes it much harder for the person who is "it" to find them!

The name "salisipan" actually comes from the Filipino word "sipsip", which means to suck in or inhale. The players have to be very quiet and still so that they don't give themselves away, almost like they are holding their breath.

It's a really fun game to play with friends or family, and it's a great way to get some exercise and fresh air while having a good time. So next time you're in the Philippines, be sure to ask someone to teach you how to play salisipan!
