ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Samuel Proctor Oral History Program

The Samuel Proctor Oral History Program (SPOHP) is like a big collection of stories and memories, kind of like a big book or a video library. People who have experienced important events or have lived through important times in history talk about their experiences in interviews called oral histories. These interviews are recorded and saved so that people can listen to them and learn about history from the people who were there. It's like listening to your grandparents or aunts and uncles tell stories about when they were young, but instead of just your family, there are lots of people sharing their stories! The SPOHP is run by a group of people who want to make sure that these important stories are heard and remembered so that we can learn from them and understand more about our past.
