ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Sandboarding

Have you ever played at the beach and noticed those soft sand dunes? Sandboarding is sliding down those sand dunes just like sliding down the slide in the park, but instead of using water or plastic, we use a board!

These boards look like the ones from snowboarding, but they are usually made of plastic or wood, so they slide better on the sand. You stand on the board, holding onto the edges, just like a surfboard or skateboard. Then, you slide down the sandy slope, feeling the wind in your hair and the sand tickling your toes.

Before you start sandboarding, make sure you have the right equipment! Besides the board, you need to wear proper clothing, sunscreen, goggles, and a helmet. If you're new to the sport, it's a good idea to take a lesson from a sandboarding instructor to learn the basics and safety procedures.

Remember to be careful because you can reach high speeds while sandboarding. Always stay within your abilities, and leave enough room between yourself and other sandboarders. Have fun riding the sandy hills!
