Sanitary sewer

Okay, so sanitary sewer is like a big pipe that goes under the streets and it carries all the yucky stuff from the toilets and sinks and showers in our houses to a special place where it can be cleaned up.

You know how when you flush the toilet, everything goes down a hole and disappears? Well, it actually goes through pipes and into the sanitary sewer.

The sewer is really important because the yucky stuff in our waste can make us sick if it's not taken care of properly. So, it goes to a special place called a wastewater treatment plant where they work really hard to clean it up and make it safe for the environment.

That way, we can keep our homes and neighborhoods clean and healthy. Pretty cool, right?
