ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Satin glass

Satin glass is a special kind of glass that looks a bit cloudy, like there's some mist on it. It's made by taking normal glass and making its surface all bumpy and rough. This makes light bounce off it in lots of different directions, instead of just going straight through. That's what makes it look a bit fuzzy and not quite clear. Satin glass is used in lots of things like lamps, windows and even in fancy dishes. It can be really pretty, and it's a nice way to add some softness to something that would otherwise be very shiny and reflective.
