ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Sausage making

Sausage making is like when you play with Play-Doh and make different shapes out of it. Instead of Play-Doh, you use meat, like pork or chicken, and mix it with spices and other ingredients to make sausage.

First, you need to grind the meat into little bits, just like when you make hamburger. Then you mix in the spices and other ingredients, like salt, pepper, garlic, and maybe even some cheese or vegetables.

After that, you put the mixture into a special tool called a sausage stuffer. This tool helps you put the meat mixture into a casing, which is like a tube made out of either animal intestines (don't worry, they're cleaned and safe to eat) or a synthetic material.

Once the meat is inside the casing, it's time to make the sausage links. You can twist the casing to make little sausages, or leave it in one long piece and cut it when you're ready to cook it.

Finally, you cook the sausages by grilling them, frying them, or boiling them. And that's how sausage is made!
