Scalded milk

Have you ever had hot chocolate or a warm bowl of oatmeal for breakfast? Well, sometimes grown-ups have to heat up milk to make these yummy treats. But, if we heat up the milk too much, it can become very hot and burn our tongues! That's called scalding milk.

You see, milk is made up of tiny little things called proteins. When we heat up the milk too much, it can cause the proteins to break apart and clump together. That's what makes the milk thick and kinda gross. But don't worry, you can still use scalded milk in some recipes! Just let it cool down a bit before you use it. Safety first, friends!
