ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Scantegrity

Scantegrity is like playing a secret ballot game where each player gets to write their choice on a paper and put it in a special box. But the box has a special power that mixes up the papers when they go inside, so nobody can tell which paper belongs to which player.

At the end of the game, somebody opens the box and writes down all the choices that were made. But nobody can tell which choice belongs to which player because the box has mixed everything up!

So nobody can ever find out who made which choice, but still, everybody knows what the choices were. This way, people can vote for what they believe in without fear of being punished or pressured by others who disagree. Scantegrity helps to create a secret and safe voting process where everyone's voice can be equally heard.
