Scythe

Okay kiddo, do you know what a big sharp tool used to cut grass or plants looks like? Yes? Great! That's very similar to a scythe. A scythe is a really long tool that farmers use to harvest crops like wheat by cutting through them in one big sweep.

The scythe is made up of a long handle called a staff and a curved metal blade at the end. The blade is really sharp and is angled so that it can easily cut through thick stalks of wheat or other tall plants.

Farmers use a scythe by holding onto the staff with both hands and using a big sweeping motion to cut through the crops. It can take a lot of practice to use a scythe properly, but once you get the hang of it, you can harvest a lot of crops quickly!

Nowadays, many farmers use machines to harvest crops instead of scythes, but some people still like to use them because they are a traditional tool and can be really satisfying to use. Pretty cool, huh?
