ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Seaplane

A seaplane is like a regular airplane, but instead of taking off and landing on a runway, it can take off and land on water. Imagine a big boat with wings and an engine that can fly in the sky!

The seaplane has special floats (like big balloons) attached to the bottom of its body which helps it to float on the water. This also helps the seaplane to take off from the water without sinking.

When a seaplane wants to take off, it speeds up on the water just like a boat. Once it reaches a certain speed, it uses its wings to create lift and then it can fly in the air. It's like a magic trick!

Seaplanes are great for flying to places that don't have airports with runways. They can land in rivers, lakes, or even in the ocean. Imagine flying over a beautiful beach and landing right on the water!

People who love adventures and exploring remote areas often use seaplanes to go to places that can't be reached by road or regular airplanes. It's like having your own personal flying boat!
