Search and rescue is when people need help and a group of people go and look for them. This can be because someone is lost, stuck in a dangerous place, or hurt and can't get themselves out of harm’s way. The search and rescue team looks for clues to help them find the person they are looking for, like footprints, cell phone signals, or they might talk to people near the area to try and get more information. Sometimes they use vehicles like helicopters, airplanes, or boats to help them look in certain areas. Sometimes the search and rescue team is made up of members of the community who work together to help find the person or pet that is missing. People join search and rescue teams so they can help people and make sure no one gets hurt or lost.
