ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Emergency management

Emergency management is a way people plan and prepare for bad things that can happen in an emergency. This could be something like a natural disaster (like a hurricane, tornado, or earthquake) or a man-made disaster (like an industrial accident or a terrorism attack). Emergency managers create plans so that people know what to do and who to call if something bad happens. They make sure that things like food, water, and medical supplies are ready to go when help is needed. They also work with officials to make sure schools, roads and other essential services can be used in the event of an emergency.
