Disaster risk reduction

Disaster risk reduction (DRR) is a way of helping us stay safe when natural disasters like earthquakes, floods, or storms happen. DRR includes things like making sure buildings are strong enough to stay up during a big earthquake, or building levees (strong walls) to stop floods. DRR also includes things like teaching people how to stay safe during a disaster, and helping people in a community get early warnings when something bad could happen.
