ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Second strike

Imagine you're playing a game with a friend, and you accidentally break one of the rules. In most games, nothing really happens if you break the rule once. But if you break the same rule again, your friend might say "second strike!" and give you a penalty, like taking away some points or skipping a turn.

In real life, "second strike" is something that happens when someone has broken a law or rule before. The first time they broke the rule, they might have gotten a warning or a small punishment. But if they break the same rule again, they might get a more serious punishment, like going to jail or getting a bigger fine.

This is meant to help people understand that breaking rules has consequences, and to encourage them to follow the rules and be responsible. By knowing that there might be a "second strike" waiting for them, people are less likely to break the rules and more likely to try to be good citizens.
