Second-order intercept point

Imagine you're playing with toy cars, vrooming them around and making cool engine noises. The second-order intercept point is like a way to measure how loud those engine noises would be if you had two cars racing each other.

To figure out the second-order intercept point, you need to imagine two toy cars with engines that make really loud noises. When you turn on both of them at the same time, the noise they make could interfere with each other and create a really loud sound. The second-order intercept point is the point where the sound created by the two engines meets a certain level of loudness, and then starts getting quieter again.
