ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Secondary education

Secondary education is the next step after elementary school when you become a big kid. You go to secondary school, which is also known as high school or secondary school. This is where you learn more advanced things to prepare yourself for college or work.

In secondary school, you have a different teacher for each subject, like math or history. You stay in the same class all day, and the teachers come to you.
You also have more classes in the day, and they are longer than in elementary school.

The subjects you learn in secondary school are a bit harder than in elementary school, and you have to study harder too. You might also get some homework to do at home.

It is important to pay attention in secondary school because the things you learn there will help you get a good job or go to college later. Secondary education is an important step in your education journey.
