Secularism in Lebanon

Secularism means that everyone is allowed to have their own beliefs and make their own choices about what they believe in. In Lebanon, this means that people can choose to be any religion they want (such as Christian or Muslim), or they can choose not to believe in any religion at all.

In the past, Lebanon was mostly run by a group of people who all believed in the same religion, which was causing problems because people who believed in another religion or no religion didn't have as much say in how the country was being run. So, they decided to make a change and passed a law that said all different kinds of beliefs and religions should be treated the same and given the same rights.

Now, people in Lebanon can choose their own religion, and they don't have to worry about being treated unfairly or differently because of it. They can also participate in the government and have a say in how their country is run, no matter what belief they have.

That's what secularism means in Lebanon: that everyone should be treated equally no matter what they believe in.
