ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Secure access service edge

Okay kiddo, let me explain what a secure access service edge (SASE) is.

Imagine you have a big puzzle with many pieces, and each piece is a different kind of security measure. Some of the pieces check if a user is who they say they are, others check if they have permission to access a certain file or website, and some pieces make sure that information is encrypted and safe from bad guys.

Now imagine putting all of these puzzle pieces together to create one big security picture. This is what SASE does - it combines many different security methods into one system.

But why is this important? Well sometimes, people need to work on the internet from different places - like from home or on vacation. SASE makes sure that wherever someone is, they can still safely access important files and information.

Think of SASE like your parents holding your hand while crossing the street. They make sure you get safely to the other side, even though there are cars and other dangers around. SASE does the same thing, but for people who are trying to work on the internet. Make sense?
