Semantic HTML

Semantic HTML is a way of writing HTML so that it explains what the content is. For example, if you are writing about a important person then you might use the tag <importantperson> to indicate that the content is about an important person. That way, a computer can understand what the content is about, even if it doesn't understand the words. It can also help other people understand the page better, because it's easier to read.
