ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Semantic class

A semantic class is like a big group of words that are related to each other because they have something in common. It's like when you have a toy box and you put all your toy cars in one group and all your toy animals in another group. They are different toys, but they belong in those groups because they share some characteristics. In the same way, words in a semantic class have something in common. For example, the semantic class of "fruits" includes words like apple, banana, and orange because they are all types of fruit. This helps us understand the meaning of a word based on the other words in its semantic class.
