ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Seonbi

Seonbi is a word from Korean culture and it means "sage." A seonbi is like a teacher or a wise person who teaches you good things. They are kind of like superheroes who use their brains and their hearts to help people.

Seonbi were very important in Korea a long time ago. They would study lots of things like art, poetry, philosophy and martial arts. They would also practice being very kind and respectful to others.

People looked up to seonbi and wanted to be like them because they were very smart and good role models. Even today, people still talk about seonbi and try to be like them. They are like a guide to help us be the best kind of person we can be.
