ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Septemberprogramm

Septemberprogramm was a plan made by Germany during World War I, similar to a big "to-do" list. It was called the Septemberprogramm because it was made in September of 1914. The plan included things like what Germany wanted to achieve in the war, what land they wanted to conquer, and what they would do with the land they took over.

Just like when you make a list for your parents to buy groceries, Germany made a list of things they wanted to accomplish during the war. The Septemberprogramm was like a really big and important list for the German government.

Germany wanted to conquer a lot of land in Europe, especially in Belgium, France, and Russia. They also wanted to have control over the sea so they could be the top country in Europe.

This plan made Germany look really mean to the other countries involved in the war, and it made it seem like they had no intention of making peace anytime soon. Eventually, the war would end in 1918, and Germany would not get everything they wanted from their Septemberprogramm list.
