Serac

Okay kiddo, so a serac is a big block of ice that can be found on a glacier or a mountain. It's like a big cube of ice! Sometimes these seracs can be really big and tall, like a building!

They form when snow falls and compresses into ice. Over time, different layers of ice build up and form huge chunks of ice. These chunks can weigh a lot and can be dangerous, because they can fall and cause avalanches.

Seracs can also be really beautiful! They sparkle in the sunlight and can look like giant crystals. But remember, we need to be careful around them if we see them in person!
