irrational numbers

An irrational number is a number which can't be written as a simple fraction (like 1/2 or 3/4). They are numbers that go on forever and never repeat. For example, the number π (pi) is an irrational number. You can keep writing out the digits after the decimal point forever and never repeat the same digits.
