A series circuit is like a train. Each train car is connected in one long line, like each electrical component in a series circuit is connected one after the other. If one train car gets disconnected, then all of the rest of the train cars will stop too. This also happens in a series circuit. If one of the components is disconnected, none of the components will work.
A parallel circuit is like a highway. Just like cars can travel on the highway, electricity can flow through the parallel circuit. If one car arrives at their destination and leaves the highway, the other cars can still keep moving. This is like in a parallel circuit. If one of the components is removed, all the other components can still get electricity.
