Service module

Okay, imagine you have a really cool toy car that you love to play with. Now, this car has many parts that help it do different things. There's the wheels, the motor, the steering wheel, the pedals, the seats, and many more.

Similarly, a spacecraft like the Apollo spacecraft, also has many parts that help it do different things. Now, one of the most important parts of this spacecraft is called the service module.

The service module is like the super engine or the power house of the spacecraft. It has many important components that help the spacecraft do a lot of different things while it is in space. These components include the engine, the fuel tanks, the navigation system, the power supply, the oxygen and water supply, and many more.

So, just like your toy car needs all its parts to work together to go really fast or make turns, the service module helps the spacecraft go to the moon or orbit the Earth. And it's super important because without it, the spacecraft wouldn't be able to do its job properly.
