ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Sexual repression

Sexual repression is when a person does not feel comfortable discussing or thinking about sex or sexual activity. People can feel uncomfortable or even scared to talk about such things. For example, some people might feel like they're not supposed to talk about sex because it's too embarrassing, or they don't know how to bring it up. This kind of pressure to not talk about sex can lead to feelings of shame or guilt, and can make it so that people don't talk about their feelings or desires when it comes to sex. It can also lead to people feeling like they can't be their true selves when it comes to their sexual interests.
